CMM Inspector Responsibilities:

Conduct first-off inspections of machined components and complex assemblies, ensuring full compliance with engineering drawings and CAD data.
Perform final inspections, completing AS9100-compliant First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and accurately documenting product conformity.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of quality assurance procedures, applying them consistently across inspection and manufacturing operations.
Identify and document non-conforming products in accordance with both internal procedures and specific customer requirements.
Ensure all inspection tools and gauges used as acceptance media are correctly calibrated and maintained, following internal and customer-defined standards.

CMM Inspector Requirements:

Strong understanding of machined part inspection, utilising a wide range of techniques including CMM, vision CMM, shadow graphs, and other precision measurement tools.
Solid working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and a clear understanding of ISO 9001 quality requirements.
Ideally experienced with PC-DMIS and/or Zeiss Calypso software for both online and offline CMM programming and inspection.
Hands-on machining environment experience is highly desirable, particularly with materials such as aluminium alloys, steels, and titanium.
