The business is seeking a civil supervisor for a 6Â month contract to expand and modernise an operational site in Essex.
This role is to act as the Principal Contractors Supervisor and you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all civil construction works to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time and on budget.
You will work closely with the Site Manager & Project Manager to oversee groundworks and concrete base installations, and some of your key responsibilities are detailed below.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Lead the implementation and enforcement of all health and safety regulations associated with civil works in line with CDM and site-specific requirements.
- Civil Works Oversight: Supervise civil installation activities, ensuring full compliance with approved designs, specifications, and relevant legislation.
- Quality Assurance & Inspections: Manage on-site quality control processes, conducting regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets project and regulatory standards.
- Site Safety Monitoring: Carry out and document weekly health and safety inspections; promptly report any injuries, near misses, or dangerous occurrences in line with company procedures.
- Workforce Competency Management: Verify and maintain records of operative qualifications, including expiry dates and authorisations, ensuring only competent personnel are deployed.
- Site Standards & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently managed site, promoting high standards of housekeeping and coordination across staff and subcontractors.
- Project Execution Plan (PEP) Adherence: Ensure that all site activities align with the health, safety, and operational requirements outlined in the Project Execution Plan.
- Schedule Support: Assist in developing the construction programme and play an active role in tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring timely completion of civil scopes.
