Are you a caring and adaptable individual with a passion for making a real difference in the lives of students with diverse needs?
Academics is currently seeking dedicated SEN Support Workers to join a specialist school in Wickford.
The Role:
You'll be supporting students with a wide range of additional needs, including:
- Physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
- Autism, moderate learning difficulties (LD), dyslexia, and dyspraxia
- Sight and hearing impairments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support for students, including assistance with mobility, feeding, and changing where required
- Support pupils' learning, communication, and social development
- Adapt approaches to meet individual learning and care needs
- Build a nurturing, safe, and positive environment where all students can thrive
- Engage learners in fun, creative ways - a drama or playful background is always a plus!
Ideal Candidate:
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school or care background welcomed)
- Comfortable with personal care and routine-based support
- Resilient, proactive, and a team player
