Role Overview

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our bespoke aerospace manufacturing solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that products meet all customer and regulatory requirements, improving internal processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

This is a critical role for someone with a strong background in aerospace or precision manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality standards

  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits with customers and regulatory bodies

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues

  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection and test plans across the production lifecycle

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring quality requirements are met from design through to production

  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102

  • Monitor quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is built into every stage of the process

  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), concessions, and customer returns

  • Provide technical support to resolve quality issues in-house and at supplier locations

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline

  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role within aerospace or precision manufacturing

  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards

  • Experience with FAIRs, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and other quality tools

  • Proficient in root cause analysis techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Ishikawa

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Desirable:

  • Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001/AS9100)

  • Experience working in a bespoke or low-volume/high-complexity manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with Nadcap or aerospace OEM quality systems

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and digital quality tools
