Mechanical Fitter

Location- Widnes
Salary: £42,000 – £44,000 per year (with scope for pay rise based on performance)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Double Days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer in Widnes who are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Fitter to their engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business that invests heavily in staff development and training.

Responsibilities:

Repairing and maintaining a wide range of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic valves & equipment
Fabrication of parts for the plant and carrying out welding tasks (MIG & Stick welding)
Working to tight tolerances and accurately setting up machinery, including moulds and tampers
Supporting continuous improvement and ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality

What We’re Looking For:

Ideally NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
Strong background in mechanical maintenance/fitting
Ability to MIG and Stick weld – a competent welder is highly advantageous
Experience with hydraulics is an advantage
Flexible, proactive, and a good team player
