Pay: Up to 20.98 per hour
Contract: Initial 6-month contract with the potential for a permanent role
Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Conveyancing Officer to join our dynamic and supportive Legal Services Directorate. This team plays a critical role in protecting the Council's interests by providing high-quality legal, corporate, and constitutional advice. You will lead on complex conveyancing and land-related matters, working on behalf of the Council to support a wide range of service areas.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a varied caseload of commercial conveyancing and land transactions with minimal supervision
Provide expert legal advice and support across Council departments
Ensure work is delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with corporate priorities
Maintain client focus, confidentiality, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
What We're Looking For
Significant experience in commercial conveyancing and land law
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Professional legal qualification:
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), or
Licensed Conveyancer, or
Graduate Member of CILEx, or
Holder of a Law Degree or equivalent
