About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Conveyancing Officer to join our dynamic and supportive Legal Services Directorate. This team plays a critical role in protecting the Council's interests by providing high-quality legal, corporate, and constitutional advice. You will lead on complex conveyancing and land-related matters, working on behalf of the Council to support a wide range of service areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a varied caseload of commercial conveyancing and land transactions with minimal supervision

  • Provide expert legal advice and support across Council departments

  • Ensure work is delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with corporate priorities

  • Maintain client focus, confidentiality, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience in commercial conveyancing and land law

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently

  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

  • Professional legal qualification:

    • Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), or

    • Licensed Conveyancer, or

    • Graduate Member of CILEx, or

    • Holder of a Law Degree or equivalent
