Multi-Skilled EngineerLocation: WidnesSalary: £NegHours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (No weekends as standard, occasional Saturday overtime at 1.25x rate)About Us:Talent Guardian are recruiting for our client who is seeking a talented Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team. With a mix of older and newer machinery, including Hammac Hansella and Klick Lock machines. The role involves maintaining high production standards while working towards equipment upgrades. This is a stand-alone role reporting to the Managing Director, Finance Manager, and Operations Manager.Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults within PLC systems and electrical components to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Maintain and repair air pistons, solenoid valves, and other pneumatic control systems.
  • Work with bearings, gearboxes, and other mechanical components for optimal machine performance.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for machine modifications and repairs.
  • Install and configure new machinery, ensuring proper functionality and integration into the production process.
  • Complete job maintenance sheets and execute periodic maintenance schedules to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
  • Ensure all maintenance and engineering practices align with BRC/SALSA accreditation requirements.
  • updated with new Quality Control methods and implement them effectively.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines to ensure continuous production.
  • Manage technical specifications to enhance process development and production efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding, including PLC troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems, including air pistons, solenoid valves, and pneumatic control mechanisms.
  • Solid mechanical expertise in handling bearings, gearboxes, and other critical components.
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience in setting up and commissioning new machinery in a manufacturing
  • Prior experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and accreditation standards such as BRC/SALSA.
