About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a busy manufacturing site in Widnes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond quickly and safely to equipment and facility breakdowns
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, including TPM activities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems
- Perform electrical installations in line with BS 7671 (18th Edition)
- Maintain site utilities, workshop equipment, and general facilities
- Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Accurately document all maintenance and compliance activities
- Experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
- 18th Edition BS 7671 certification (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with CNC machines (e.g., Mazak, Hardinge, DMG), pneumatics, and hydraulics
- TIG welding and fabrication skills (preferred)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards
- A proactive, safety-conscious approach with strong teamwork and communication skills
- Competitive salary of £34,000-£38,000 DOE
