Your new companyHays Recruitment is happy to have partnered with two SEN primary schools in the Runcorn and Widnes areas as they have been inundated with sickness and require a number of motivated and reliable teaching assistants for daily sickness, short-term and ad-hoc cover. Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within these schools, you will have the ability to pick and choose your own availability and days worked. You will support one of two schools in the Runcorn and Widnes areas that support pupils from EYFS - KS2 with SEN. Typically their needs will consist of ASD, LD, non-verbal, visual impairments, hearing impairments, downs syndrome and other specific disabilities. You will work under the instruction of the class teacher and aid in the delivery of a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils by taking a pupil-centred approach to learning. You will offer intervention and boosters in core subjects and implement positive behaviour strategies. As you will be supporting SEN other duties may include basic speech and language interventions, sensory circuits, sensory play and the use of PECs.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience supporting SEN
  • The ability to deliver intervention and booster sessions on a 1:1 and group basis
