Senior Civils Design Engineer - Residential Infrastructure

A leading consultancy in the Wigan area is looking to bring in an experienced Senior Civils Design Engineer to support the growth of its residential infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who can work independently, lead design packages, and contribute to a wide range of development projects.

The Role
You will take ownership of civil engineering design across highways, drainage, external levels and plot drainage for residential developments. The role involves both technical delivery and the ability to advise on feasibility and design strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce civil engineering designs for highways, drainage and residential infrastructure.
  • Undertake site appraisals, drainage strategies and feasibility studies.
  • Contribute to Flood Risk Assessments.
  • Manage Section 38 and Section 104 technical submissions and approval processes.
  • Liaise with LLFAs in England and SAB authorities in Wales.
  • Prepare drawings and design work using AutoCAD, Causeway PDS and Causeway Flow.
  • Deliver work independently with minimal supervision.

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in a design office environment.
  • Strong background in residential development design.
  • Confident producing designs independently.
  • Solid understanding of UK highways and drainage standards.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage your own workload.
