Role: Engineering Supervisor

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: Monday-Friday

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead our engineering team. This engineering superviso role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance, and supporting strategic projects with a focus on operational excellence and team development.

Key Responsibilities for the engineering supervisor:

  • Supervise daily engineering and maintenance operations.
  • Manage a team of 4 engineers and 2 apprentices.
  • Ensure all tasks align with business and project goals.
  • Oversee adherence to safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance audits.
  • Contribute to manpower planning for capital projects, ensuring alignment with ongoing PMs.
  • Handle recruitment, performance appraisals, KPI setting, and minor disciplinaries.
  • Support continuous improvement and automation initiatives across the site.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering and Project Supervisor.

Skills & Experience Required for the engineering supervisor:

  • Apprentice trained or good engineering qualfications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and engineering best practices.
  • Capable of managing both people and technical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in industrial, chemical, food, or distribution sectors preferred.
  • Electrical bias highly desirable, particularly for future automation strategy.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Backgrounds for the engineering supervisor:

  • Candidates from armed forces with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Exposure to automated environments is a strong plus.

Training & Development:

We are committed to professional development and will support relevant training such as:

  • 18th Edition
  • CompEx (for explosive atmospheres)
  • Leadership or specialist technical certifications (as required)
