Mechanical Focus Engineer
Salary: £51,354 – £51,534 + overtime (OTE £70k+)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible start/finish)
Benefits: 25 days holiday, matched pension (4.5%), death in service cover, sick pay after 6 months

The Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Focus Engineer to take ownership of key machinery within a high-speed, modern production facility. You will be accountable for three core assets, ensuring they run at peak performance through preventative maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement.

This role is highly autonomous, requiring a proactive engineer who enjoys taking responsibility and driving results. In return, you’ll benefit from strong career progression opportunities, with a proven track record of engineers developing into senior management roles.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and ensure asset reliability.

  • Diagnose faults quickly, completing root cause analysis and implementing lasting solutions.

  • Plan and track maintenance tasks using a CMMS system (Maximo).

  • Manage spare parts, contractors, and maintenance schedules for assigned machinery.

  • Support shift engineers with guidance and planned work.

  • Participate in project work and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with compliance requirements.

About You
  • Strong mechanical background (bearings, belts, pneumatics, turning).

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering.

  • Experienced in fast-paced industries such as manufacturing, FMCG, print, automotive, or forces.

  • Confident with root cause analysis and problem solving.
