Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for experienced 1:1 Tutors in Wigan to deliver high-quality Maths and English tuition to pupils across Early Years, KS1, KS2, KS3, and KS4.

We work closely with Wigan Councils Childrens Educational Services (CES) to provide both face-to-face and online tuition for vulnerable children who are outside of mainstream education.

Role Details:

Location Community settings across Wigan (some home-based or online delivery possible)

Hours ~10 hours per week per pupil (flexible depending on caseload)

Pay 27 - 30 per hour (depending on experience)

Contract Ongoing, part-time/flexible

Subjects Maths and English

Start date ASAP

Requirements:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) essential

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

2 professional references

Experience working with SEN pupils desirable

This is a rewarding role, offering flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful difference in a childs education.

Further Information:

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.

Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.

*Tuition takes place generally in school daytime hours but occasional opportunities after school 3-4pm and evening occur. Sessions can range between 1-4 hours on a daily or weekly basis.
