We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative at TATA Steel's expansive Steelpark site. Steelpark is the UK's largest steel distribution and processing centre, uniquely supported by a domestic steel mill.
Position: Warehouse OperativeLocation: TATA Steel, Steelpark Way, Willenhall, Wolverhampton WV11 3SQSalary:(£12.21 per hour, with a 10% shift allowance = £13.43 per hour)Weekend Rate: £18.32 per hourContract Duration: Initially 12 monthsShift Patterns: Double days: Monday to Thursday 05:30-13:30 and 13:30-22:00; Friday 06:00-11:40 and 11:40-17:10Start Date: ASAP, subject to Occupational Health clearance, including a Drug and Alcohol test
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to packing specifications based on customer requirements
- Operate tooling and material handling equipment
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations and encourage others to do the same
- Identify and address unsafe conditions or actions
- Work flexibly to meet business needs
- Recognize product ranges for efficient material selection and processing
- Apply continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques
- Recommend enhancements to production control procedures
- Handle and manage material, including stock records, labelling, and storage in line with commercial and safety standards
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in a warehouse or production environment
- Background in industrial or production settings
- Ability to perform manual handling and stand for extended periods
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle due to shift times
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with SAP
- FLT/Counterbalance licence or relevant experience
- Skills or qualifications in decoiling, pressing, or cutting
