Description
- Month end accounting for five entities, including income recognition and posting of journals to recognise accrued income and cost accruals
- Monthly commentary to explain variances in actuals against forecast
- Balance sheet reconciliations across all balance sheet accounts and entities on a monthly basis
- Work closely with other members of the Finance team, including:
- The Financial Controller in the preparation of the monthly reporting packs for the Board;
- The Financial planning & analysis team in the preparation of budgets and forecasts; and
- The Finance Assistant who is responsible for processing invoices and raising payments
- Deliver financial information to other stakeholders across the business, including heads of department, to monitor their spend
- Challenge areas of underperformance through discussion with stakeholders across the business
- Strive for continuous business process improvement
- Can also be involved in ad-hoc projects and initiatives, for example new system implementation and statutory accounts preparation
Profile
A successful Management Accountant should have:
- A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Experience in preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Proficiency in accounting software and intermediate Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
