About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified CompEx Electrician to take on a Chargehand role at our clients site in Wilton, Middlesbrough. This is a long-term position focused more on permit control, inspection planning, and remedial coordination than on traditional supervision. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented electrician who enjoys organizing and executing technical work rather than managing a large team.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply for and accept permits to work on a daily basis in accordance with site procedures.
Conduct inspections and carry out electrical remedials in hazardous areas (ATEX environments).
Create material lists following inspections to ensure timely and accurate remedial work.
Liaise with the Superintendent to report on progress, permits, and any issues arising.
Lead day-to-day tasks alongside one other inspector - not a large crew.
Maintain safety, compliance, and documentation standards at all times.

Requirements:

Valid Compex 01-04.
ECS Card
Proven industrial experience as a time-served Electrician.
Experience in hazardous area inspections and remedial work.
Good understanding of permit-to-work systems and electrical compliance.
Organized and proactive with strong communication skills.

Additional Info:

Flat rate of £32.69/hour - no shift uplift or overtime rate.
Standard working week: 37.5 hours.
