Overview:A great college is seeking an Estates Assistant to support the Estates Manager and Deputy Manager in maintaining the college buildings and site. This role ensures the facilities are safe, clean, and efficiently maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance and repairs (plumbing, leaks, glazing, etc.)
  • Locking and unlocking buildings
  • Managing heating, lighting, plumbing, and gate systems
  • Participating in emergency call-out rota
  • Supporting college events (may include evenings and weekends)
  • Moving furniture and equipment
  • Driving college vehicles
  • Emergency cleaning duties
  • Acting as a First Aider
  • Directing cleaning staff if needed
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Physically fit to work outdoors and lift up to 15 kg
  • Flexible work attitude and empathy towards 16-19 age range
  • Friendly personality with a good sense of humour
  • Valid driving licence
  • First Aid qualification
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Commitment to equality and diversity
  • Desirable: Experience with the age group and a trade or maintenance background (carpentry, masonry, electrics, plumbing)
