Finance Operations Manager (Finance & Database)

This is a rare opportunity to take on a pivotal role as Finance Operations Manager (Finance & Database) within a respected educational environment.
The RoleWorking closely with the Director of Development, you’ll be at the heart of the organisation’s operational success. Your primary focus will be managing the donor database (Toucan Tech), overseeing financial operations related to income and expenditure, and enabling the wider team to focus on external engagement.
You will lead on:

Database integrity and management (25,000+ records)

Donation processing, acknowledgement, and reconciliation

Financial reporting and coordination with internal departments and international affiliates

Compliance with data protection, finance, and fundraising regulations

Office and systems management
-
High-level support for major donor cultivation and reporting

Maintain a secure, accurate, and up-to-date CRM

Generate donor reports, mailing lists, and event data

Process Gift Aid claims and manage donation platforms (e.g., Stripe, GoCardless)

Provide data analysis and insight to support fundraising campaigns and Giving Days

Assist in donor research and pipeline development

Draft and review internal policies and procedures

Liaise with third-party providers and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence
You are organised, collaborative, and confident in managing data and finance processes. You’ll be comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and enjoy working closely with colleagues across departments.
You will have:

Strong experience with charity CRMs (Toucan Tech desirable)

Experience in financial reconciliation, budgeting, and donation processing

Excellent IT skills, including Excel and Office 365

High attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A sound understanding of GDPR and charity finance practices
