Ecologist - Winchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy based in Winchester. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about ecology and keen to contribute to high-quality projects across the South of England. The successful candidate will support a wide range of ecological services, including habitat surveys, protected species work, ecological reporting and project delivery. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, the Ecologist will have the chance to develop technical skills while making a meaningful contribution to sustainable development and biodiversity outcomes.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Undertake a variety of ecological field surveys and assessments

  • Assist with ecological reports, including PEAs, EcIAs and protected species reports

  • Support project delivery and liaise with colleagues and clients

  • Contribute to high standards of health, safety and ecological best practice

You will ideally have;

  • A degree in Ecology or a related subject

  • Some experience in ecological fieldwork and reporting

  • Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

  • A proactive, organised approach with strong communication skills

  • Willingness to travel for site work (full driving licence desirable)
