About the Role
As a Trainee Pensions Payroll Administrator, you will become part of a dynamic Pensions Administration Department, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services to pensioners. You’ll work closely with experienced payroll professionals to ensure that monthly pension payments are processed efficiently and in compliance with statutory requirements and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in processing monthly pension payrolls from start to finish for a portfolio of clients.
- Record and process payroll changes accurately and in a timely manner using our work management system.
- Reconcile payroll costs and ensure deductions (e.g., PAYE) are made and submitted on time.
- Manage year-end processes, including the production and distribution of P60s.
- Respond to queries from pensioners, clients, and third parties both verbally and in writing.
- Maintain payroll systems and support broader payroll and administrative team operations.
- Issue payslips and ensure accurate distribution based on up-to-date pensioner information.

Qualifications and Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9 to 6 including Maths.
- A-levels or equivalent; degree-level education is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows 10.
