A Day in the Life of a Band 7 RMN in a Prison Setting:

Join a high-performing clinical team within a secure establishment, leading and delivering quality mental health care to patients in custody. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing a team of mental health professionals and supporting service delivery

  • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and managing caseloads

  • Providing clinical leadership and supervision

  • Supporting crisis care, medication management, and safeguarding interventions

  • Liaising with prison services, external agencies, and MDT colleagues

  • Maintaining clinical standards, documentation, and policy compliance

This role is ideal for an experienced RMN who is confident in both clinical delivery and team management within a secure or custodial environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Current and valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse

  • Essential: Active prison clearance and previous experience working in a prison environment

  • Essential: Proven managerial or leadership experience

  • Strong understanding of secure healthcare procedures and risk management

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The contract is 3 months ongoing, with strong potential for extension depending on performance and service needs.
