Our client is looking to recruit a Production Technician capable of manufacturing and processing materials with minimal supervision, handling a range of processes and equipment, adjusting in-process equipment to maintain manufacturing parameters.The candidate will be operating and setting up equipment and so will need to have a strong understanding of production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate plant and equipment to mix, manufacture, transfer, and pack products.

  • Weigh and blend ingredients according to formulations, ensuring accurate labeling and record-keeping.

  • Handle products and raw materials in compliance with MSDS, risk assessments, and COSHH guidelines.

  • Use manual handling equipment to move heavy ingredients (e.g., product drums and packs).

  • Maintain hygiene standards and follow clean-as-you-go practices aligned with HACCP, GMP, and BRC requirements.

  • Ensure products meet quality standards and report out-of-spec items for corrective action.

  • Maintain equipment, clean after use, and report defects.

  • Assist with waste disposal, calibrations, and stock maintenance.

  • Support other production areas when needed.

Communication:

  • Report progress and issues to Production Supervisors.

  • Notify Supervisors of raw material shortages.

Improvement & Training:

  • Suggest improvements and contribute to area improvement teams.

  • Participate in training and assist with skill transfer.

Health & Safety:

  • Report hazards, follow safety standards, and promote a safe working environment.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Numerate, literate, and capable of mixing/packing materials.

  • Knowledge of quality control systems and food hygiene.

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., BRC/ISO).

  • Technical knowledge of production processes and equipment.

???????This role will be on a 2 weeks rotating shift pattern basis with working hours encompassing the following* 6am - 2pm (Monday to Friday)* 2pm - 10pm (Monday to Friday)Initially this role is likely to be on a temporary basis but with a view to becoming permanent for the right person.Pay:£17.01 per hour (including shift enhancement)
