An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Waking Nights Support Worker to join a well-established children’s residential home located in a peaceful setting in Hampshire.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing overnight care and emotional support to children, ensuring a calm, stable, and safe environment during the night.

This role can be full-time or part-time offering salary range of £12.80 - £14.00 per hour for 20 - 40 hours work week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide a secure, emotionally supportive environment overnight, following trauma-informed practices such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).
  • Stay alert and responsive throughout the shift, working independently to address the children’s needs.
  • Conduct regular checks on children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while respecting their privacy.
  • Provide comfort, guidance, and reassurance to children who may experience emotional distress during the night.
  • Assist children with bedtime routines and early morning transitions.
  • Maintain clear communication with daytime staff during shift handovers, ensuring continuity of care.

What we are looking for:

  • Previously worked as a Residential Support Worker, Support Worker, Keyworker, Care worker, Residential, Care Assistant or in a similar role.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in the UK.
  • A willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved).
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care.
  • Valid Uk driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Shifts: 10:00pm - 8:00am
