At this site you can expect to scrub for major Orthopaedics, Breast Surgery, ENT, Cosmetic Surgeries, and general surgeries.
As a Theatre Practitioner, you will:
- Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, and ensuring equipment safety.
- Support the Anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, and airway management.
- Provide post-operative care, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain and nausea.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times.
- Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
- Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment before use and report any faults.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve efficient surgical lists.

The ideal Theatre Practitioner will have:
- Registration as a Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
- Experience or training in theatre environments, specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
- Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.
