A food manufacturer are looking for an Environmental Advisor to help make a real difference to ensure the company is meeting its environmental and energy goals. This company has some of the most recognisable products in the world! You will certainly have tasted these products at at many global brands.

This role supports the site in meeting environmental and energy legislation, maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards, and driving sustainability performance. You'll provide technical expertise, champion best practice, and help deliver ongoing improvements that reduce environmental impact and energy use across a busy manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain and develop ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems, ensuring full compliance and audit readiness
  • Keep up to date with environmental and energy legislation, advising the leadership team on changes and required actions
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and all associated reporting
  • Monitor and report emissions, effluents, waste streams, and overall resource use
  • Lead environmental monitoring programmes including air quality, noise, wastewater
  • Oversee waste contractors to ensure segregation, storage, recycling, and disposal are fully compliant
  • Develop initiatives to reduce waste, emissions, and the use of hazardous substances
  • Support investigations into environmental incidents and help deliver corrective actions
  • Work with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify and deliver energy efficiency projects
  • Track energy consumption and performance indicators, preparing clear reports for management review
  • Support energy audits and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 50001 requirements
  • Promote energy awareness and support behavioural change initiatives across the site
  • Prepare environmental and energy performance reports for internal stakeholders and regulators
  • Track and analyse KPIs relating to environment and energy
  • Maintain accurate environmental records, permits, and documentation
  • Deliver environmental and energy awareness training to employees and contractors

What You'll Bring

  • A qualification in environmental science, sustainability, energy management, or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Solid understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
  • Experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and energy legislation
  • Confident data analysis and reporting skills
