Mobile Fitter | Wishaw | Pumps & Plant Maintenance
We are working with a leading UK pump rental provider with a national reputation for quality, reliability, and service. They are now seeking a Mobile Fitter to join their engineering team, supporting operations in and around Wishaw.
This is a field-based role ideal for someone with mechanical experience in construction, plant hire, or utilities, confident working independently on customer sites to service and maintain diesel pumps and associated equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair diesel-powered pumps and associated mechanical equipment
- Carry out fault-finding and diagnostic work on returned or in-field equipment
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across the rental fleet
- Ensure work meets manufacturer standards and health & safety requirements
- Check, document, and report any equipment damage or recurring issues
- Communicate effectively with managers and internal teams regarding spare parts, downtime, and repair updates
- Complete all service records using a company tablet
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and take care of tools and company vehicle
- Support the workshop team during absences when needed
- Uphold high standards of customer service and professionalism on client sites
Qualifications & Experience:
- SVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Proven experience working as a mobile or workshop fitter, ideally in pumps, plant, or construction equipment - Must understand diesel engines
- Knowledge of isolation, safe systems of work, and site safety requirements
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexible, reliable, and proactive with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends if required
- Full UK driving licence
Summary
Position: Mobile Fitter

Duration: Permanent
Salary: £37,000 – £45,000 + Overtime + Van
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start: Notice Dependent
