Fire Engineer – Up to £45,000 (full-time), dependent on experience – Essex, SS17 9AL (Remote with periodic office visits)
The Role
Do you have a strong grasp of fire safety regulations and experience in producing detailed fire strategy reports? Are you looking for a role where your work directly protects lives and property across the UK?
We’re looking for an experienced Fire Engineer to join our fire safety team. You’ll be responsible for producing fire strategy reports and carrying out fire risk assessments across a broad range of properties. While this role can be performed remotely, you’ll need to attend our Essex office (SS17 9AL) periodically.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create fire strategy reports that align with BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B
- Conduct fire risk assessments (Types 1–4) for residential, commercial and industrial properties
- Develop technical documents including fire safety statements and evacuation plans
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Complete reports accurately and on time, in line with company policy and current legislation
- Meet agreed KPIs

The company was born in 2015 when it’s Director, an ex-Firefighter realised that lives, homes and businesses were at risk due to the poor provision of Fire Safety products. We are working with clients to ensure our customers and teams are 100% safe, 100% of the time. We provide fire safety testing and maintenance on all active and passive fire safety products; we deliver fire training and undertake electrical portable appliance testing (PAT).

The Person
- At least 2 years’ experience in fire engineering and assessments
- Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline (BEng/MEng/MSc)
- In-depth knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation
- Confident in working with BS9999, BS7974, and Approved Document B
- Familiar with the Regulatory Reform (FS) Order 2005 and associated guidance
- IT proficient and holds a full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Membership with IFE, IFSM, TFRAR, or FRACS
- CSCS Card
- Current DBS or willingness to obtain one
