Goodman Masson are currently working with a social housing organisation in Essex to recruit for an interim Electrical Engineer.

Pay Rate: £200 - £250 per day Umbrella

The Opportunity

This 6-month contract involves overseeing two active electrical testing contracts-one for communal areas (~160 sites) and another for tenanted dwellings (~460 properties). You'll be responsible for contractor coordination, progress tracking, remedial work management, and ensuring full compliance within the designated timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage two contractors conducting EICR testing across communal and residential properties.
  • Ensure consistent progress against the delivery schedule and address any no-access issues with a structured resolution process.
  • Monitor and respond to remedial works identified through the testing process.
  • Maintain budgetary oversight and reporting to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Attend site visits and face-to-face contractor meetings as required
  • Drive toward 100% compliance within the six-month programme window.

What We're Looking For

  • A qualified Electrical Engineer with relevant certifications.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale electrical testing or compliance contracts.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills to coordinate multiple contractors.
  • Experience in budget monitoring and cost control within compliance-focused projects.
  • Immediate availability and willingness to undertake occasional site visits.
