Are you an experienced Workshop Supervisor - Engineering & Fabrication with a hands-on approach and a passion for quality fabrication? We're working with a well-established engineering and fabrication firm located in Witham known for delivering bespoke metalwork and structural solutions to a range of commercial and industrial clients.
As Workshop Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in leading production on the shop floor, supporting the team in day-to-day operations, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standard. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and fabrication knowledge who enjoys taking the lead and getting stuck in.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Overseeing workshop activity and ensuring deadlines are consistently met
- Working closely with the Workshop Manager to forward plan and manage work flow
- Carrying out final quality checks and ensuring goods are ready for dispatch
- Supervising and motivating staff, providing on-the-job support and guidance
- Attending client sites to take measurements, understand project requirements, and produce manufacturing-ready drawings
- Supporting with stock audits, goods-in procedures, and workshop safety
- Taking part in reviews and identifying training needs for team members
What We're Looking For:
- A time-served and qualified fabricator with extensive experience across light to medium duty metalwork
- Proven background as a Workshop Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills - you'll be client-facing at times
- A proactive, safety-conscious approach to workshop operations
- The ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into clear, practical solutions
