Quality Manager - 55,000 - 65,000 - Manufacturing - Witham

A leading UK-based manufacturer of specialist safety and control systems is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead its Quality Assurance function. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management, ensuring the organisation remains compliant, drives operational excellence, and continuously improves its systems and processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and develop the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring policies and processes remain current and effective
• Lead internal audits, train others in audit processes, and maintain the audit schedule
• Act as signatory for Declarations of Conformity under the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
• Liaise with notified bodies, certification authorities, and external auditors
• Oversee ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, F-Gas) and ensure regulatory compliance
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement using tools such as FMEA, Ishikawa, 8D, and Pareto analysis
• Support client tenders and PQQ submissions with detailed, high-standard responses
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and senior management to ensure quality objectives are met
• Promote sustainability initiatives and maintain environmental management systems

About You:

• Extensive experience in a senior Quality Management role, ideally within manufacturing or safety-critical industries
• Strong knowledge of ISO frameworks, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and TQM
• Proven ability to influence, lead change, and manage cross-functional teams
• ERP/Quality systems experience (SAP, SAGE, NetSuite, or similar)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent the business to clients, suppliers, and certification bodies
• Relevant degree preferred, NEBOSH qualifications advantageous
