We are a LOOKING FOR A TRANSPORT PLANNER TO JOIN OUR CLIENT

A leading logistics provider committed to delivering efficient and reliable transport solutions. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving logistical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule transport routes for a mixed fleet of vehicles, ensuring maximum efficiency and on-time delivery for both Pallet Network and general haulage services.

  • Manage load allocations based on vehicle capacity, delivery times, and customer requirements.

  • Liaise with drivers to communicate schedules, provide job details, and address any queries or on-road issues.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing updates on deliveries, handling any transport-related inquiries, and resolving service issues promptly.

  • Ensure all transport operations adhere to legal and safety regulations, including driver hours, working time directive, and tachograph regulations.

  • Monitor fleet utilization, reducing empty running and optimizing vehicle capacity to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.

  • Maintain accurate records and handle claims for damaged pallets.

  • Collaborate with the transport team to optimize fleet utilization and improve operational processes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' proven experience in Pallet Network route planning.

  • Strong understanding of general haulage route planning.

  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits, including drivers' hours and working time directive regulations, road traffic laws, and vehicle costs.

  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, work unsupervised calmly and professionally, and be a great team player.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and IT proficiency.
