Our Client is looking for a skilled and organised Sous Chef to join our catering team in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef seeking a great worklife balance, with no expectation of evening or weekend work.
The RoleWorking closely with the Catering Manager and a Commis Chef, you will support the delivery of a high-quality food offer across a busy site. The main provision is food courtstyle service for the canteen, covering breakfast and lunch, alongside a varied hospitality offer.
You will be responsible for:
Food preparation and service to a high standard
Operating Rational ovens and other kitchen equipment
Delivering hospitality ranging from working lunches to VIP events, ensuring presentation meets required standards
Supporting consistent quality across a high-volume service environment
Assisting with planning and preparation alongside the wider kitchen team
A dedicated night team supports preparation, and weekend services are pre-prepared on Fridays and delivered by a chef and general assistant, allowing your role to remain weekday-based.

Approximate daily site numbers:
1,000 covers weekdays
200 covers nights
220 covers weekends
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
Confidence working in high-volume catering environments
Experience with Rational ovens
Strong organisational skills and attention to presentation
A team-focused, professional approach to service
£16.20 per hour for 37.5 contracted hours
Paid overtime at x1.5
