We are seeking a Biology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school on a long-term temporary basis from October 2025 until December 2025.

The successful candidate will teach Biology to Years 8, 9 and 10, working 3 days per week, and will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and a passion for science.

Duties as Biology Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Biology lessons to Years 8–10

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the delivery of the science curriculum

  • Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies

  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively following the school’s behaviour policy

  • Set and mark homework and classwork regularly

  • Contribute to departmental meetings, planning and moderation

  • Support students in developing their practical and analytical skills

  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities

Ideal Biology Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology and General Science

  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Biology Teacher.
