Are you passionate about food safety and protecting public health or do you have experience working in catering and hospitality, if so we would love to hear from you.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use their transferable skills and learn on the job. The role of Regulatory Support Officer provides valuable exposure to a wide range of regulatory activities and the chance to work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment.

In the role of Regulatory Support Officer you will;

  • Respond to service requests relating to food safety, health and safety, and Public Health
  • Undertake food sampling activities in line with statutory requirements and local priorities
  • Assist with and carry out enforcement interventions, such as inspections, revisits and advisory visits

The ideal candidate may have worked in catering, food service, hospitality, or another role where food safety and health standards are important. Most importantly, you will be a good communicator with a genuine interest in food safety, public health or environmental health.

This is a part time role of 21.5 hours per week and we’re happy to be flexible with the working pattern that works around you. Please note it is anticipated that you will be required to be in the office or working in the West Oxfordshire District 2 days a week after your induction and you will otherwise be able to work at home if that suits you.

You will need

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of Food and health and safety legislation and guidance
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to interpret legislation and guidance into practical procedures.
