Are you a school leaver or graduate looking to kick-start a career in tax with full training and support? TPF Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded accountancy practice that is looking to grow its tax team by hiring an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Tax Trainee.

About the Role:

You’ll be joining a collaborative tax department, reporting to the Tax Manager and supporting a team of senior tax professionals. This role is ideal for someone eager to build a long-term career in personal tax and advisory services while studying towards a professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare standard income tax returns and Employment Related Securities reporting

  • Support the team in the implementation of Making Tax Digital (MTD)

  • Manage client communications and liaise with HMRC as needed

  • Maintain and update internal tax databases and spreadsheets

  • Assist with the administrative elements of new client onboarding

  • Work closely with senior tax team members on client work and compliance

  • Accurately complete time sheets and ensure work is delivered on time

  • Attend training and study towards passing professional tax exams (ATT/CTA)

RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For:
  • A graduate (2:1 or above) or a school leaver with strong A-Levels (C grade average or better)
  • Basic understanding of personal tax (income tax, CGT, IHT)
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with a professional attitude and keen attention to detail
  • A strong team player with a positive, can-do approach to learning and development
  • Willing to embrace change and commit to continuous improvement
