About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to strengthen our supply chains and embed a culture of reliability across our company. This role spans the full supply chain and manufacturing departments, collaborating closely with design engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure quality and durability are prioritised from concept to trackside delivery.
This is a role focused on anticipating and preventing failures, understanding the unique demands of racing, and driving improvements to ensure vehicles perform flawlessly, hour after hour.
Role Dimensions
Location: Based at our facility, reporting to the Director of Quality.
Travel: Involves travel to suppliers and test facilities.
Principal Accountabilities
Review and assess suppliers to ensure best practices and quality standards meet the demands of endurance racing.
Collaborate with partners and suppliers to implement and maintain best-practice quality principles, keeping durability and reliability first.
Work with the design team to ensure manufacturing meets endurance reliability and Right First Time (RFT) standards.
Embed quality assurance into pre-manufacturing processes, focusing on components under high endurance stress.
Partner with inspection and manufacturing teams to resolve non-conformances and capture learnings to enhance future designs.
Define and enforce clear inspection requirements across suppliers, ensuring consistent standards from manufacturing to the race track.
Develop and manage the Audit database to maintain robust records and resolve non-conformances quickly.
Conduct supplier audits with a focus on endurance capability, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to reliability meetings, capturing and actioning supplier issues and trackside learnings.
Collaborate with the reliability team to address component failures from long-duration testing and feed insights into future builds.
Report quality concerns to stakeholders and lead timely resolutions to ensure race readiness.
Lead structured problem-solving activities to prevent failures during events.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Extensive experience in Quality Engineering.
Proven skills as an auditor.
Ability to self-manage time effectively.
Degree in production/mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
Expertise in problem-solving techniques and auditing.
In-depth knowledge of Carbon Fibre and Metallic manufacturing.
Thorough understanding of metrology techniques and terminology.
Essential experience in technical problem-solving.
Knowledge of FMEA and process mapping.
Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Proactive team player with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure.
Clear and effective communication skills.
