This is an exciting opportunity to join my client, a trusted, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, renowned for lending their expertise to the transport, infrastructure, and environmental landscapes. They are looking for a talented, experienced Senior Drainage Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside an already-established team of experts, based in the modern, sought-after town of Woking.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Drainage Engineer include:

  • Produce drainage and highways designs with respect to the relevant Section Agreements (namely, S104, S38, and S278)
  • Prepare technical assessments for new developments
  • Check and amend technical drawings and reports for submission
  • Support colleagues and other stakeholders in their comprehension of technical concepts
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage projects, ensuring work is undertaken within budget and timeframes, to the highest of standards
  • Liaise closely with clients and Project Managers regarding project delivery
  • Ensure industry standards and regulations are complied with at all times

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Drainage Engineer include:

  • A Degree (or higher qualification) in Civil Engineering or a similar, relevant field
  • Extensive experience of working in an infrastructure design role, within a UK-based consultancy setting
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing designs (particularly in relation to the relevant Section Agreements, including S38, S278, S104)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the relevant software packages, including MicroDrainage, and/or Causeway Flow
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments and designing drainage strategies
  • Competent in your knowledge of relevant design standards, including Sewers for Adoption, DMRB, national planning policy, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civils 3D
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of applications (to include Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • A full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Drainage Engineer include:

  • Outstanding literacy and numeracy skills
  • Prior experience of managing stakeholders
