Job Title: Shift Engineer
Location: Woking, Surrey
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift-Based)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across M&E building services systems

  • Carry out monitoring, fault-finding, and diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and control systems

  • Operate and maintain data centre plant equipment including

  • Respond to alarms and critical incidents promptly, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime

  • Complete shift reports, maintenance logs, and system documentation accurately

  • Adhere to data centre operating procedures, risk protocols, and permit-to-work processes

  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives on-site

  • Work cooperatively with on-site clients, vendors, and engineering teams

Requirements

  • Recognised qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3+, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems

  • Comfortable working within a structured shift rota
