Workshop & Equipment Manager Role Purpose:

  • Reporting to the Head of Plant and Machinery Maintenance, we are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional individual to join our expanding team, which is committed to consistently delivering service excellence. You will be required to use your initiative and judgment daily. The role will include preventative maintenance, servicing and repair to an extensive fleet of golf course maintenance equipment. This role will require both onsite and offsite maintenance and will involve leading a team of mechanics and logistical personnel that will grow over time.

Workshop & Equipment Manager Duties:

  • Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including, diesel, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, mowers, tractors, rollers and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
  • Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
  • Keeps records for equipment and parts inventory purchases and completed works.
  • Completes regular servicing of all equipment and sharpening of mowing equipment.
  • Complies with all legislation and regulations including provisions contained in the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to produce a high standard of work

Experience Required

  • Qualified Mechanic
  • Electro-hydraulic experience is an advantage
  • Proficient use of operating reel and bed knife grinders
  • Previous experience in a similar role dealing with golf course equipment, agricultural equipment or plant
  • Hold a full driving license
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and use of IT systems

Desirable but not essential

  • Welding/fabrication experience
  • Practical experience in green keeping and/or working with golf course equipment
  • Holds a trailer license
