Prison Security Escort

Prison Escorts required to work at HMP Send, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week minimum.

�11.39 per hour inclusive of Holiday Pay.

Your new company
As a supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of support escorts, Hays is seeking to recruit Prison/Project Escorts for GFSL, who are one of the contractors who carry out FM and Projects throughout the prisons across the whole of the UK.


Your new role
As a Prison / Project Escort, you will be responsible for escorting contractors and vehicles around the site, searching visitors and contractors when they arrive on site, searching their vehicles and their tools, and supervising them when they are carrying out works throughout the prison. You will be fully key and radio trained, and may also be required to carry out routine patrols of perimeter grounds and routine administrative work.

This is a temporary contract where you will be assigned to a particular project which will be 2 months in duration - however with more projects due to start within the prison, it is likely you will be extended and moved onto further projects, or assigned to the FM team. For successful applicants, there is a chance you could potentially be offered a permanent position.


What you'll need to succeed
No formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role.
The nature of the escort role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in customer services or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.
Full training is provided by the establishment/ department. Training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.

Security Clearance required:
Immediate start if you are already Prison Cleared.

All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take anywhere from 4 -10 weeks typically. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.


What you'll get in return
Hours are Monday - Friday minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Rate of pay: �11.39 premium (inclusive of holiday pay), �9.94 Basic (once holiday pay has been put aside).

Hourly rate for the first 37.5 hours = �9.94 plus holiday
Hourly rate for any hours worked that exceed 37.5 during the week = �14.92 plus holiday
Hourly rate for any hours worked on a Sunday / Bank Holiday = �19.89 plus holiday

Holiday pay is accrued in accordance to the standard HMPPS annual leave policy of 33 days per annum including 8 bank holidays.
You will be able to book in holiday pay for any time off you have, which will be paid out of your holiday pay that has been accrued. Any holiday pay built up and not claim by the end of the year / end of the assignment will be paid out to you in full.
