Production Supervisor - PM Shift

Production Supervisor required to work a PM Shift for a specialist Engineering and manufacturing business based near Woking. You will be an experienced and hands on supervisor who is used to leading a team of production and assembly operatives specialising in mechanical engineering and fitting. You will be responsible for supporting the Production Manager by leading staff; organising and monitoring workflow and ensuring the team are meeting monthly targets

Shift pattern: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm- 10:30pm, Friday 1:00pm - 8:00pm

We are looking for a skilled leader who has a proven knowledge or background of leading a team within a mechanical production environment.

This role has become available due to huge growth plans and the implementation of a new shift to support the growth and development of the business to not only meet the current order book but increase the output moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands on Technical support and assistance with the team
Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; understanding manufacturing bottlenecks and problem solving, monitoring the skills matrix and resources; implementing cost reductions, communicating well with other departments to ensure team involvement.
Resolving day to day issues and establishing guidelines and processes to prevent any future issues.
Maintain quality service and manufacturing high quality products by establishing and enforcing the organisations' standards.
Ensure the areas are organised using 5S and all equipment is serviced to ensure equipment availability and performance .
Enforce process adherence and a structured approach to continuous improvement.
Resolves personnel problems by analysing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Lead team briefs and tool box talks on a daily basis and attend Contract Review Meetings in the absence of the Production Manager.
Work with the Production Manager to ensure effective introduction of new products.
