Our client is a non-profit organisation working with people to support their health and wellbeing.  Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its boarders. They believe change is achievable when offered by a flexible, respectful, inclusive and a non-judgemental approach.  They are currently looking for a Part Time Counselling Practitioner to work within the Counselling team.  Salary: £27,000 - £28,000  pro rata per annum, dependent on experience Hours: 10 hours a week Duration:  FTC until 31st December 2025 Company Benefits:  26 days annual leave (pro rata) + bank holidays + 1 extra days leave on your birthday, Pension, Access to Simply Health, Blended working, Employee discount programme and more….. Location:  Hybrid / Woking Taking on the triage / Initial assessment stage you will be speaking with potential service users, exploring a their history in enough detail to accurately assess without risk of re-traumatisation and verifying they are within the remit and suitable for counselling within the service, also assessing client risk and acting where necessary.   You will also be supporting the Clinical Service Manager with an oversight of the functions and operations of the service so they can offer a robust and professional counselling service and providing support to the team in peak times.  Part of the role is also supporting the volunteer counsellors in relation to the functions of providing the counselling service contract and policies and procedures that underpin the governance and in line with BCAP.     This post is subject to a DBS check.  Please note past drug and/or alcohol or criminality history will not necessarily discount you from undertaking this role Our ideal applicant will have/be;  
  • Qualified Counsellor (minimum level 4 diploma in counselling)
  • Minimum of 1 year post qualification counselling experience
  • Some counselling experience ideally working with clients presenting with mental health or / and drug/alcohol concerns
  • Experience of taking referrals and conducting triage, assessment for counselling
  • Proactive, motivated and energetic
  • Ability to work calmly in a challenging environment
