Paint Technician

Contract: 6-month contract (Inside IR35) with the potential to go permanent
Location: Woking
Hours: 40-hours (7:30am-4pm)

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a skilled Paint Technician to join our press fleet management team, ensuring that vehicles are maintained to the highest possible standard. The role involves a wide range of paintwork — from detailing and smart spot repairs to full rebuild resprays. A dedicated spray booth and tools will be provided on-site in Woking.

Principal Accountabilities of the Paint Technician

  • Carry out paint repairs independently, demonstrating trade qualifications and proven experience.
  • Plan and manage your own workload effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Manage paint and consumable accounts against set budgets.
  • Produce accurate quotes, estimates, and job hour reporting.
  • Oversee servicing and maintenance of all paint equipment and tools.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, always using correct PPE.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience of the Paint Technician

  • Previous experience with premium automotive brands (essential).
  • Qualified in automotive paint spraying and repair.
  • Skilled in panel preparation, filler work, spray painting, and polishing.
  • Strong understanding of surface quality standards affecting paint finish.
  • Proactive problem-solving and self-motivation.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and quality assurance.
