Location: Field-based, UK and some international travel required

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Service Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting advanced medical diagnostic equipment across the UK and international markets. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge ophthalmic and medical imaging systems, delivering exceptional technical service, installation, and maintenance to a wide range of customers.

As a Senior Service Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that medical devices are functioning at the highest standards, providing both hardware and software support, and delivering first-class customer service. This is a field-based role with extensive travel, including occasional weekends, requiring flexibility, dedication, and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to service requests, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on ophthalmic and medical diagnostic equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with both hardware and software, including network and system integration.

  • Maintain accurate service records and reports in line with regulatory standards.

  • Deliver basic user training to clinical and technical staff on installed systems.

  • Support logistics, including equipment dispatch and setup at exhibitions or training events.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage workload independently, demonstrating initiative and flexibility to meet deadlines.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in servicing medical or ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of IT networking, SQL, and software integration (DICOM, HL7).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Willingness to work unsociable hours, weekends, and travel extensively across the UK and abroad.

  • Exceptional time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional, reliable, and committed with a high level of integrity.

  • Understanding of ISO 13485:2016 and medical device regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or formal qualification in electronics, biomedical engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience in a commercial or clinical setting with medical diagnostic technologies.

  • Training in manufacturer-specific equipment is advantageous.
