We are seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher for a term-long position starting in September at a well-regarded educational institution in Reading. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering high-quality education in humanities subjects and fostering a positive learning environment for all students.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in humanities subjects.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organising learning resources and the classroom environment.
  • Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the institution.
  • Participate in departmental and school meetings, parent meetings, and whole school training events.
  • Stay updated on pedagogical methods and actively engage in professional development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Humanities or a closely related subject.
  • Proven experience as a Humanities Teacher.
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organised and committed.
  • Creative and energetic.
  • Strong moral values and discipline.
