Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Placement Officer for a local authority based in Berkshire.

In this role, you will coordinate and manage placement referrals for children in care, ensuring timely, safe, and suitable matches that meet their assessed needs.

Key Duties:

  • Coordinate and process placement referrals for children and young people.
  • Identify suitable placements that meet assessed needs and safety requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams and external providers in a fast-paced, multi-agency setting.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all placement activity meets statutory and service standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience working within Children's Social Care or a similar setting.
  • Proven background in children's placement brokerage or referrals.
  • Skilled in working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience collaborating across multi-agency environments, including health, voluntary, and independent sectors.

What's on offer:

Salary: £22+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week - 1 day per week in the office (Tuesday)
