Our client a leading energy provider in the Wokingham area has a requirement for a Junior SCADA Engineer to join their team in an exciting and vital transformation period. Creating cleaner, greener systems that serves generations to come. You will be aspiring to be a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineer. This system is a critical national infrastructure for the real-time operation of the electricity transmission system, ensuring safety and system security standards are always maintained.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining data, displays and network models, including data analysis, testing, drawing displays and implementation of changes. These analysis tools are used in the Electricity National Control Centre and are critical to the safe, secure and economic operation of the electricity transmission system. You will also be responsible for assisting the Systems, Support and Insight Team on projects, supporting lead engineers as required.

The successful candidate will be undertaking extensive training as part of this role.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree level is essential, ideally in a STEM related subject, (equivalent qualifications will also be considered).
  • Understanding of power system operation would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Good understanding of system and data.
  • Good understanding of database structures.
  • A detail-oriented mindset.
  • A passion for problem solving and critical thinking.

Enhanced security checks will be required for this role.
