Autocad Technician

Overview:A well-established manufacturer in the West Midlands is seeking a skilled CAD Design Technician to join their technical and production engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for design and engineering to contribute to innovative product development and detailed technical planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality 2D and 3D technical drawings and plans based on architectural and design specifications.
• Modify existing drawings and create detailed production instructions tailored to customer requirements.
• Set up bill of materials and product structures using the company’s MRP system (training provided).
• Support the development and prototyping of new products in collaboration with the engineering team.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawing interpretation.
• Proficiency in CAD software, ideally Autodesk AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and BIM.
• Competence in Microsoft Office for documentation and presentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to review and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
• Flexible and responsive to design changes and project needs.
• Solid mathematical and spatial reasoning skills.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
