Financial Accountant
Location: Wolverhampton (office based)
Salary: c.50,000

The Company
The successful Financial Accountant will be joining a market-leading, acquisitive business with an exciting new strategy under fresh leadership. With multiple brands in its portfolio and a strong reputation for quality, the company is well positioned for further growth.
The Role
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for strengthening the finance function, taking ownership of month-end and statutory reporting while supporting the Financial Controller and wider team. This is a technically focused position, ideal for someone who enjoys getting into the detail while also contributing to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Preparing VAT returns, corporation tax schedules and statutory accounts
- Reviewing payments and payroll submissions
- Supporting cash flow forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with the annual audit (Big 4 firm)
- Driving best practice across financial reporting and controls
- Supporting the transition from Sage 1000 to Sage X3 (Excel remains key)
The Candidate
As the successful Financial Accountant, you are likely to have significant experience in:
- Being ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Delivering VAT returns, management reporting and statutory accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations and audit processes
- Manufacturing sector experience would be an advantage, though not essential
- Strong Excel skills (macros not required)
- A proactive, detail-driven approach with the confidence to add value from day one
Benefits Package
The following benefits package is available to the successful Financial Accountant:
- Salary circa 50,000
- 23 days holiday + bank holidays, rising with service (up to 26 days)
- Extra day off for your birthday from year 2
- Working hours: 8:45am - 4:45pm
