Capstan Setter Operator

We are looking for a skilled and reliableCapstan Setter Operatorto join our Client specialising in the fasteners industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in capstan lathes, looking to work in a well-established and supportive manufacturing environment.

As a Capstan Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating capstan lathes to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting and operatingcapstan lathesto produce precision components
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
• Performing tool changes, adjustments, and routine machine maintenance
• Monitoring production for quality, accuracy, and efficiency
• Conducting in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements:

• Proven experience in aCapstan Setter / Operatorrole
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Strong understanding of machining principles and quality standards
• Competent with measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Good time management and attention to detail
